The Bleeding Disorder Foundation of Washington (BDFW) and Puget Sound Blood Center’s annual Golf Gets in Your Blood! Tournament and Auction will be held on July 18th at the Golf Club of Newcastle. This event raises funds for blood and tissue research and for programs like Camp I-VY, a summer camp for children suffering from bleeding disorders and our year-around programming
BDFW supports families dealing with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders by providing educational programs, support groups, and financial assistance and by lobbying with political leaders in Olympia. Hemophilia and related inherited bleeding disorders have wide-ranging impact on the physical, psychosocial, and economic well-being of patients and their families. BDFW programs give hope to parents and empower children to manage their bleeding disorders in a peer-supported environment. Kids gain a new sense of independence, which is vital to any child, especially one with a life-long, complex affliction.
Puget Sound Blood Center provides a safe and available supply of blood to patients in seventy hospitals throughout western Washington. But they are also help people suffering from bleeding disorders, trauma, burns, and cancers, as well as patients undergoing bone marrow or organ transplants and other surgeries. Scientists at the Blood Center develop new therapies to help people live longer, healthier, and better lives.
We need your help to support bleeding disorder patients in Washington and medical breakthroughs that can save millions of lives across the globe. Getting involved is easy!
